How Brees didn't win the regular season MVP is freaking criminal. Dude shatters the regular season percentage record, was a Lance Moore drop away from breaking Marino's record the previous season, all the Manning talk about being the best ever, Manning is 9-9 in post season action. Brees to me, is a better quarterback at this point in his career than Manning is. Brees doesn't have Dallas Clark or Reggie Wayne, hell i almost think that you could put anyone out there, and Brees would turn them into a good receiver. Do you honestly believe Devry Henderson, or Marques Colston would be good receivers on another team? Brees could retire today, run for Governor of Louisiana, and win tomorrow.
It's a lack of respect for Drew and too much respect given to Manning. Not any more. If Drew Brees has the same type of season next year, he will win it. They have no choice now.
During the trophy presentation did anyone else notice Sean Payton saying "im going to hand this trophy to the Super Bowl MVP and MVP of our league, Drew Brees." Thats what i'm talkin bout, take that Manning.
Before the game the bobble heads were talking about what it takes to be considered an elite QB. They seemed pretty evenly divided on whether or not you needed a ring to be included in the category. I'm glad Brees doesn't have to worry about that now. :wink:
