The recruiting bash is Feb 4th, signing day, and has been held at the Argosy Atrium on the river the last couple of years. If memory serves me right tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Last year both breakfast and lunch were donated by local vendors. Beer starts around noon and like breakfast and lunch is free. Players are anounced as their letters come in. Coaches show up around 5pm. It is plenty fun early as the names come in, lags a little between beer time and coaches coming but really gets fired up and crowded when they finally show. Lots of free recruiting material to read and plenty of people to talk football with. If you have never been and are a big recruiting nut(guilty) then the bash is a must.
It has been held at the Sheraton Atrium the last several years in a row. The Atrium is due East about 200 yards of the Argosy Casino. If you've ever driven over the Baton Rouge I-10 Miss River bridge, you can easily see the Argosy Casino riverboat - it is the boat closest to the bridge. I couldn't find any info about the bash online yet - very odd, so I called the Sheraton, and after putting me on hold for 15 minutes, they hung up. I never gave up, and called back - they confirmed it is on the 4th and tickets are $25. However, they usually discount the tickets at Podnuh's and other spots if bought in advance. Remember- it is always on National Signing Day (the 1st possible day a recruit can send in his national letter of intent). I highly recommend the bash. Though most of the excitement is at the end, it is fun to drink beer and hang out with the other thousands of LSU die-hards and watch all of the game films and the faxes of the recruits roll in. Saban usually gives a speech at the end, briefly discussing the players and shows hs highlights of most of the players - well worth waiting for. It will fire you up!
I agree with you SabanFan.....would be nice to meet the people on this forum and know who they actually are. I am going.....cuz I been following the recruiting big time in the past 30 days.
