    you are confused. the housing bubble was a major reason the decade's economy was good. it is not good now

    No. I'm not confused. A major cause of the current economic downturn is the ridiculous lending/borrowing that went on during the "housing boom".

    I'm not sure what I'm misinterpreting. You think the boom in construction brought on by stupid lending policy and irresponsible consumers was positive. I don't.

    i think hes saying it led to a false surge in the economy during that period. much like the dotcoms/enron mirage prior.

    I don't need an economist's report to tell me the economy is in the toilet. It is, and it is for most Americans.

    Bush made plenty of mistakes, but Obama is being held to account for the economy as it is today. He honestly will have to start taking responsibility at some point. The voters, which he is losing more of every day, are clearly saying this to him.
