He may be 100% correct but this kind of talk one game in from within the locker room is pure pussification. You a team leader ? You got an issue with effort? Where was your ass riding these guys in August?? You keep this in house. Pointing fingers with 11games left ? Unacceptable.
I dont think 18-20 something year olds think guys at/almost 40 are "young". In fact, I'd guess they consider them old farts, possibly old as their Dads.
Ingram said in another interview that Davis came in after the spring and some of the things he was trying to teach them was different than Clegg. That's somewhat better than the "didn't know what to do" excuse but the tired and not in shape thing is on the kids. You know what it takes to be ready for a season. Some of the issue was a) UCLA schemes that they didn’t show in first game and offensive coordinator unable to react and/or get the OL’s to react b) Last years OL ( and thus year not the most talented that we have had) c) O Lineman hurt throughout camp and those are the ones that were probably out of shape since you can’t get in shape if you are hurt d) our best O Lineman plays for Kentucky. e) Our QB is still a rookie and cannot yet make quick decisions like Joe Burrow did. This is the key to operating the ‘Joe Brady’ style of offense. Remember in 2019, Burrow was a 5th year senior compared to our sophomore QB. f) OC called a very vanilla game..
The general rule of thumb in the locker room is where one player is voicing an issue another half dozen feel the same way . There’s a bad element in there . It’s been prevalent since start of last season . That being said you don’t hang your dirty drawers on the Christmas tree ( stole that one from my dad )
Concerning your item “e”. Totally agree with this and feel that 5th yr senior Brennan would have been better against UCLA if he were healthy. He was playing at a high level last year before the core muscle injury.
