every state makes it's own laws, I get that,.. but they should work towards standardizing them to make them more streamlined and efficient and to avoid the kind of bullshit we're enduring now
if that's not what you meant, you'll have to explain all that to me, I don't understand

The fed cannot tell a state how to run an election. Look at the shit show we are in. More Mail in = bigger boondoggle.

You want every 4 years to drag out like this?

    https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2019/07/oregon-lawmakers-approve-paid-postage-for-ballots.html
Under the measure, ballot return envelopes would include pre-paid postage in the form of a “business reply mail” envelope

"Oregonians instituted vote-by-mail in a 1998 ballot measure that passed by more than two-to-one, and since then opinion polls have consistently shown overwhelming public support for the system from all voters, regardless of party"

 again, we've had vote by mail since 1998, we've got it figured out

The machines won't be hacked if they are not connected to the internet. Louisiana has used machines since way before the internet. There is even an elected official called the custodian of voting machines.

a representative of the republican and democratic parties, set next to each other, and compare the signature on every ballot envelope, with the signature on the voter registration form
