1. Easy now. Did you miss the Michigan/Akron game?

UCLA may be an interesting game too, yes?

Also, how close does Oregon Oregon St. compare to, say, Bama Auburn? Is that one of those games where records don't matter?

  4. Easy now,.. Tiga, it's too easy now,.. bye week, Cal Bears, then the Colorado Buffs.

I missed out and didn't watch UCLA vs Nebraska, but the Bruins sound strong, so that should be a good one. Stanford after that,.. the game of the year.

The Oregon State Beavers,.. well, they lose to little guys, like Eastern Washington and Sacramento State, then win more than their share against the big guys. Unpredictable and kinda dangerous dem Beavs.

Oregon's won the last 5 Civil Wars, but often it's, one of those games where records don't matter. There's been some great and horrible ones.

I'm tired of pushovers, I wanna see some rockem sockem football,.... still want to win going away though.
  5. Oregon's team speed is ridiculous.

  6. I tell you what Duck.....this year Oregon has definately passed the eye test in my opinion, this could be the ducks year to win the big one, they are the team that has impressed me the most, and believe it or not it's the vast improvement of oregon's defense that has me believing that oregon may be the best team in the country!! Good luck to you guys!

  7. It's nice to see so many LSU fans hospitable to Duck fan here on this forum. It really is. Because I can assure you that in the real physical world in Oregon, these people are not hospitable to us, the SEC or the South in general. Y'all keep up the good work! People in La. usually only have good things to say about the west coast. Usually. Not the case out here, especially in the PNW, directed towards the south.

Oregon does look good, but they always look good until they play a stout defense. The only real challenge on their schedule appears to be Stanford because the other Pac schools also do not have strong defenses. Meanwhile, LSU has another very tough schedule with Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Bama, and a good-looking Ole Miss team still ahead, to say nothing of what could be the SECCG, etc.

If Oregon gets left out of the national championship game again, it is either because they tripped up somewhere or were not picked because of their perceived weak schedule.
  8. Nice of you to say, thanks. Yeah, Oregon looks fantastic, hard for me to not go apeshit with excitement. Need to keep repeating to myself,.. only the third week,.. only beat nobodies,.. only the third week,... only beat nobodies.......
  9. Yep, this place has been incredibly hospitable to me. You're singing the same old song about the Northwest, but I won't dance with you anymore.

You're right about our weak schedule, I don't like it either.

    Go Ducks

  10. Actually Oregon does not rock. This board and Louisiana rock.

You have been hospitable here, which is a big reason for your hospitable treatment by the members. You represent your school well. That is a personal testament to you. Thank you. Unfortunately, I have never met anyone in Oregon like you and I am currently in your state (Portland area). My perception is that you are a rarity here. Most of the people up this way are very angry and bitter people. While I will still occasionally wear my LSU and Saints gear, I have cut way back on it. It just isn't worth it. I am plugged into other New Orleans and La. transplants, so I get by. When I lived in OC, no one gave a crap about anything. So.Cal. is a fairly apathetic market filled with transplants. I admire the passion of Oregon, Oregon St. and even the Washington fans, but the hostility, anger and other issues I can do without. I know you are anxious for a championship, but up here, the flags and shirts all get put away as soon as Oregon loses a game. Happens every year. We (LSU) fans are by no means perfect or angels in our own right, but when I go to my house in New Orleans, I can see folks from the west coast being treated warmly and openly (unless you are a 49er fan ;) ). That is not the case in Oregon. You don't have to be from CA to be treated with hostility and animus in Oregon. You simply have to be from the "outside". This experienced has actually helped me grow into a better person. We have a condo over in the panhandle of Fla and visit regularly. This is an epi-center of SEC football as every school is represented in this vacation area of the Gulf Coast. I get along with 95% of these people (or more) famously. I even get along with Auburn fan, which surprised the shit out of me. ;) Ran into a couple of Ole Miss fans 2 weeks ago in Sandestin. I could tell they kind of wanted to go at it. They referenced Katrina and how Haley Barbour was a much better governor than Kathleen Blanco. Well, I don't k now about Haley Barbour, but I do know that Blanco sucked, as did Nagin and Bush. Basically government sucks. So when I laughed off and admitted our governor and mayor sucking, the tension was gone and they bought me some drinks and invited me up to Oxford. All good. No real hostility ever present, just some southern brotherly love/hate. lol I wish you guys were more welcoming and not hostile to others. It would make it much more easy to support you guys - especially since I am currently living in your backyard. At any rate, my experiences in Portland and Seattle have helped me to get along better with my SEC and southern rivals. So for that, I guess I am grateful to the PNW. lol
