The Pac 12 really underpays it's coaches. The SEC has 7 coaches making more than Petersen. Moo U's Dan Mullen is the lowest paid at $3.0 http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/updated-sec-coaches-salaries-heading-into-2015-season/
Actually, I think that coaches are grossly overpaid and as much as I love football, I still have to admit that what we pay coaches is a sign of misplaced values in our society.
If I were to make a list of misplaced values in our society, overpaid coaches would probably be around #100.
Yet you are OK with movie stars making more for one movie than Nick Saban makes in 7 years. Or no-talent rappers or Justin Beiber or whoever. It is what it is. Football and other sports are part of the entertainment business. You can say what you want about teachers and cops being underpaid but nobody is going to shell out to but a ticket to see somebody teach a math class. Now if we could put a cop on pay per view shooting an unarmed black man that would be a huge seller.
