To be honest, at first I was disappointed, but the more I know about Willie Taggart, the better I feel. I like that he was an assistant along with David Shaw, and helped Jim Harbaugh built Stanford into a power. Harbaugh calls Taggart the best recruiter he's ever known,.. Harbaugh was best man at Taggart's wedding and says Willie's an extension of his family. Since leaving Stanford, Taggart has successfully built two losing programs from the ground up into winners. Next year's gonna be fun, (gotta be better than '16),.. Our fans are spoiled though, Coach Taggart had better make the Ducks fly and soon. I feel for our long time assistants, their lives are going to change. Congrats on a fine season, vball, your boys really turned into something fine. Looking forward to a great Rose Bowl, excellent match-up,.. playoff caliber.
Actually, it was Jim's father Jack with that quote. Jack coached Taggart at Western Kentucky and was quoted as calling him the best recruiter he'd ever been associated with. Taggart returned to coach at WKU after several years at Stanford under Jim.
