That sure would be nice. However, I believe that if Michigan beats USC (which I suspect they will), with Hene and Hart already coming back as well, I believe Michigan will be the pre-season #1 for 2007. A Michigan victory over USC (which is a much better team than ND) coupled with 2 of their top offensive weapons already saying they'll be back) will look a lot more conviencing in the national media's eyes than LSU beating a ND team that the media is already starting to backtrack from their original Irish lovefest and are now claiming ND is over-rated. But we definately SHOULD be top 3 (I still have this feeling that the media's love for USC won't die just yet).
Dorsey is just in his first year of starting regularly, but he also is being considered for the first round of the NFL draft. "I have to keep tunnel vision and focus on the task at hand," Dorsey said. "I kind of venture off every once in a while and think about it (the NFL). But I'm so busy with LSU activities that I really don't have time to think about it. I guess that's a good problem to have." Pelini said Dorsey has petitioned the NFL to learn where he might go in the draft, which is common for junior star players. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070101/SPORTS0202/701010303/1028
I don't think so. ESPN's little fictional post-season tournament exercise (Herbie notwithstanding) tells me we're finally starting to get some respect. Doing what everyone thinks we should do -- blowing out ND -- should only increase that. Bringing back our best underclassmen clinches it.
USC will be preseason #1, they are already hyping them after their stunning beat down of the power house of Michigan, forgetting they lost to UCLA a few weeks earlier.. The media darlings will once again be preseason #1 bank it.
I was eating dinner last night when the Rose Bowl crew started pimping the winner of the RB as "the obvious preseason #1 team." I thought I was going to throw up.
