I understand how you feel about overly-emotional complainers, but you seem to be defending the comments of the ESPN announcing crew. Is it your position that the comments made by that ESPN crew about LSU fans were accurate? Please clarify.
No LSU fans started that website or have anything to do with it. That was started while he was at OSU and it has not been updated for Les' move to LSU.
Sabanfan, are you saying we should blindly stand by our coaching staff despite them coaching 2 very bad games. So IYO it should not be allowed to criticize a coaching staff even though their play calling was pathetic? Granted I do think calling for his head was unnecessary and ridiculous, but pointing flaws in their coaching is a lot different. You much admit that the pressure they have faced from the fans had caused them to rethink some things and they have been calling plays on defense a lot more aggressively.
I didn't hear them specifically refer to the web site by name and wondered if they had read some of the posts here at Tiger Forums.
It only takes one person with one credit card to register a site. How do they know that the traffic isn't just curious web surfers? I'm going to register all of the www.fire(insert coach here).com so all of the other teams fans can also get slammed on TV. P.S: looking to sell firebopellini.com, please contact me :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Like ScottyB said...they were telling the truth and in this case the truth hurts and is embarrassing. People putting up web sites after one loss or drunk, stupid fools beating on buses is way out of line. Yes, ESPN could've also done a better job of harping on some of the good things LSU players, athletic personnel, fans did during both hurricanes. Unfortunately, the society we live in things get focused on the negative and the bus incident was a huge black eye on the entire LSU community, from Admin to Joe Fan. That incident brought more bad publicity on LSU than any of the good things that came out of Katrina coverage.
I think he harped on it a little too long and painted the LSU fanbase with too wide of a brush, but most of his comments were right on. He wasn't talking about the people who had some minor complaints about schemes and some of the playing and made a point of saying that. He was referring to the people who were calling for the coaches heads. Anyone who says that there were not a lot of posts and stories calling for coaches heads must not have read much the first 2 weeks.
