Thanks! I get tired of defending it. As I've said before, many of Miles' recruits are already household names and we wouldn't be in the Sugar Bowl without them. It's such an easy jab for someone to say a coach is "Winning with his recruits" when a new coach comes in. Kinda like, "The play-calling was too conservative". Usually people who say those things don't really have in-depth knowledge of either.
Yep, the hero of the Arkansas game (Holliday) probably couldn't pick Saban out of a police lineup. He's one of the many Miles recruits. Just wish he wouldn't violate curfew! And we finally found a running game when Williams (Miles recruit) started getting the ball. Miles is our guy...get over it.
You are totally missing my point. What I was saying is that there could be more incentive for Saban's players to beat him at Bama because he left LSU and now is at Bama. I was trying to say that we should have more motivation to beat Bama every year since he was our coach before then left and went to a possibly rivalry school. I am happy Miles can recruit. I am happy with Miles record the last 2 years. I don't know what record he will have the next 2 and thats what bothers me. I do not want a repeat of the Gerry Dinardo years this is why I'm not completely sold on Miles. Nothing personal! I realize that football coaches don't have the best personalities on the planet.
Some football coaches have great personalities; in fact, it helps them when recruiting. I've heard that RP's mother couldn't stand Saban, but loves Miles. My dad spoke with a former LSU assistant who was with Saban for the first two years in Baton Rouge. He said, "We worked 50 out of 52 whole weekends each year--but Saban wasn't there even half of that time. He just demanded that his coaches be there." People don't like working for him.
