They recently did the "NBA combine" workouts where they measured all the prospects and did all the drills, and Tyrus was ranked the 21st best athlete in the draft, which is unheard of for a big man Here was his measurements: Standing Vertical: 34 Running Vertical: 39.5 185 Bench Press Reps: 8 Lane Agility Test: 11.36 secs 3 quarter court sprint: 3.2 secs Tyrus Thomas 6'8 and a half 217 lbs 7'3 wingspan 9'0 standing reach 5.6% body fat the best athlete in the draft was rated David Noel #2 was Arkansas's Ronnie Brewer b/c it's a pay article, i won't post it all, but if you have a specific athlete in the draft you want, i'll post their times, etc
thx im surprised his vert isnt higher. supposedly david thompson from ncst in the 70s had a 41" vert. i cant even imagine it.
farmer from UCLA had a 42 inch Brewer a 41 inch ULL's stud Mitchell had 41.5 Marcus Williams from Uconn had a 28 inch vertical, and had 12.4% body fat they said his stock is soaring down
40s are rare but do happen. especially for combines and things like that where players do things to specifically increase. mario williams had a 40.5, vernon davis had a 42, joe addai got 38.5. i wouldnt be surprised if tyrus could get more than 38. i swear, sometimes i thot the guy jumped 4 feet in the air lol
Ray Durham, the 2nd baseman, had a 44' vertical. He was with the Birmingham Barrons when Michael Jordan was there, and supposedly he could outjump MJ.
