I was focused on the run, now I have a glimpse of the man - Cannon What a fantastic article on Billy Cannon. I've only known bits and pieces about his glory on the field and his life after. Both the good and the bad. Take time to read this article. It's well worth it. ESPN - OTL: The Redemption of Billy Cannon - E-ticket
On the very front page of ESPN.com, no less. Great article. Definitely one of the best I've read in awhile.
Billy Cannon ..... Great All-American! One touchdown allowed by each team through 7 games. Danyum. Watch the embedded video, it mentions someone wanted to trade his used caddy for 4 tix and another wanted to swap his wife for a ticket to the game. LOL!

Local radio guy here in Oklahoma was going on and on about Cannon this morning. Said he was one of the best to ever play and made mention of how big he was playing at 220 (or close) when back then the O lineman were like 180. Good to hear him so well respected.
Cannon, despite his short comings, has been a hero to the LSU football program, and will always be. That is a great article, thank you for posting.
Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a long time. Life has just been too busy. I came to post this article on Billy Cannon but saw it had already been done. I will never forget that night. I was a senior at Auburn listening to the game on the radio. I was pulling for LSU and Billy came thru. I almost always think of that game on Halloween. It's too bad he has gone thru so many ups and downs but it seems to have a hppy ending. Maybe my Tigers can kick some Ole Sis butt tomorrow (on Halloween no less) but don't bet on it. Hope your guys are getting rested and ready to beat the hell out of bammer.
He's in every sport page in the country today. They have a long, impressive thread about him on TideFans, too. Cannon was the Hershel Walker and Tim Tebow of his day in the SEC.
