Why is Evangel and Curtis having to move down? Are they being foced by LHSAA. I have been out of the state for several years and don't get to keep up with LA HSFB like I did in the past. Thanks.

yeah because of that vote by all the coaches to base your classification on your enrollment. Of course their opponents coaches voted to knock them back down because they feel the recruiting that goes on is out of control and the playing field is very uneven. Not sure how bad Evangel 'recruiting' is compared to other schools yet other coaches seem to think so.

That meeting is when the Evangel coach offered 15 thousand or something to anyone who could show proof they recruited and emphatically stated they never have.

The playing field is uneven in 5A so ofcourse its a great idea to move them down to 2A where no other team will even have a chance to compete with Curtis or Evangel.

So you're saying Louisiana teams are inferior? A loss to a Texas or California team is still a loss.

He was the starter at the beginning of the season & had a season ending injury early in the year. He made a very fast progression through the minor leagues.

Here's an excerpt from an article in the Shrevport Times today about Evange's enrollment.

Evangel, expected to drop to 2A under new rules, could actually have a 1A enrollment with 250 students.

I look for ECA to take a nosedive over the next few years because of 2 things. 1)Johnny Booty will compete directly with ECA in landing the area's best athletes and 2)Because of the classification drop, I think more kids might decide to play at their neighborhood schools instead of crossing the river from Bossier & driving over from east Texas. JMO.

A lot of ECA players have TX ties. Longview specifically.
