Supposedly Jai is still holding Peterson off according to Mike Scarborough... This has to be good news.

Jai will be the starter the first game of the season, and maybe the 2nd, but look for Peterson to take over by game 3.

It doesn't have to do with talent or knowing the defense, it has to do with giving the upperclassman his chance & not throwing a true freshman to the wolves.

It could be that Peterson is giving Jai the push that he perhaps needed to finally reach his potential.

    I love Fall Camp Competition!

i dont really get this. we dont see the wolves til game 4. similar to the qb situation. if you plan on starting a young guy by game 3 or 4 or 5, with this schedule, put him in game 1. but i guess pt is the real issue. as long as they get a lot of pt it may be better not to start them.

Well, one thing we know for sure is that the coaches know a lot more than us, so either Eugene has pulled it together or Peterson isn't what he's trumped up to be.

Two guys at the top level is great news. Depth is everything in the title chase in a rough league like the SEC.

LSU gets lost of ink for having so much talent in this decade. But it was the deep talent that has been responsible for most of LSU's success. We've lost key players to injuries - QB, RB, WR, OL - and it has never killed our season. We play a lot of guys and are fresh in the 4th quarter.

    Dude.

    Seriously?

Perhaps we can wait for a game or three...

Eugene was the #1 CB in his national recruiting class if memory serves me correctly. It's not like Peterson is being held off the starting job by a walkon...
