    This is a great post!
Yes, anybody would be a fool not to throw the ball against our 115th ranked
defense but hopefully we will be better prepared and have a better performance. :)

The equalizer here will be the Tenn QB's, they both have the deer in the headlights look at are in-experienced.
I don't know how much pt RC has had since he left LSU but he played the
same for us his one start and about as long, 5 minutes :hihi:

We did beat a #15 team, supposedly, on the road so I like our chances @ home especially against Tenn's QB's.

I can't wait til Saturday night! :geauxtige
Hey Tenn, got any trophies lately? :crystal: :helmet:

If the Vols fate fall in the hands of Clauson Tenn may be doomed

He would also be a fool if he expects LSU to be the same team that played against Arizona State. LSU is not likely to remain at the bottom of the pass defense standings.

He would clearly be a fool if he didn't go with his best hand -- a powerful running game featuring a marqee running back and a distinguished offensive line.

I expect a balanced offense from Tennessee. If we can stop Riggs and force the Tennesse quarterbacks to throw, we win this game, I think. Neither of these guys is a Sam Keller. if Tennessee can run and pass, it may be a long night for the Tigers. On the other hand, I expect LSU to establish a balanced offense, as well, and put up more points than Tennessee.

Does uncharacteristic mean no buckets of Hagen Das after the game?

Right, but the only way to figure out if our pass D improved is to test it. I expect they will do that the first couple of series.

UT will never abandon their run game, but it would wise to test our pass D early.

If they throw 50 times, we win by 3 touchdowns. They'll run/pass right at about 50/50.

Too bad our DC won't use any other players to generate more pressure on the QB.

I look at it like this. We cant let Ainge or Clausen get comfortable in the pocket. Keller had all day and if you give any QB enough time he is going to find someone.

The defensive backs are catching all the heat but if you dont get any pressure then your DB's look more vulnerable.

I think you will see balanced attacks from both teams . If they both get the running games working then the game will probably come down to turnovers and special teams with both offenses scoring 14-17 points.

I think our team was a little flat against ASU. I expect our receivers to catch better and i think our defense is improved. And with the crowd support you will see a much improved team.

    Football is really simple:

Cause turnovers but dont have them yourself
    play good special teams
    run , pass, block well
defense the run, pass, and get pressure on the QB
    Have few penalties.

There you have it. The book of football written by me.

If it were only that easy.

Keller didn't have all day to throw, it's just that he didn't ask for it. If he had sat in the pocket 4 seconds on each play, he'd have been blasted. Our guys were getting a decent push, and half the game they were within arm's length of getting a hand on him. The issue was ASU's gameplan and playcalling, and ultimately their execution, where they took a short drop and completed underneath passes. Couple extreme execution with great pass catching and poor tackling, and you get ASU passing at will.

I get the feeling UT fans are downplaying their team as much as possible to give themselves that surprise factor.
