it was announced in Tiger Stadium that because it was a 2 point game the extra point would be attempted. A min or two later the announcer said the game was over and LSU won .....
The refs lined the ball up and announced the extra try must be attempted, but I think UT forfeited it by leaving the field. It is not the ref's duty to pull the other team back on the field for it.
You are assuming that Less Smiles would have had the presences of mind top be aware of that situation and make the right call in a timely manner :bncry::rolleye33:
I remember when this happened in an NFL game a while back. I think it was Bills-Patriots, back when Wade Phillips was still coaching Buffalo. Similar situation to what happened to Tennessee, they had a PI call in the end zone which extended the game to one more down. The kicker ran the extra point in against no defense, and I believe Wade got fined.
Dooley had already taken the team to the locker room, and no way was he coming back. If we had run the play would Miles have been smart enough to just take a knee. I hope so.
The officials tried to make us but Tenn was already in the locker room and said f*ck it. ETA: NM....I see that this has already been answered. I got nothing to add, so I guess I’ll leave this thread in shame now.
