that recent book "the wisdon of crowds" did some sort of statistical analysis of going for it on 4th down and i think they proved you should go for it alot. hasnt it been demonstrated many times mathematically that going for it is awesome?
ESPN Sportscenter dude says it was a "max protect" play, in other words, not intended for the punter to run for the first down, but to move slightly to his right to avoid the rush from the other side....just stupid...let the dude punt like normal...why make him run 4 steps to his right before punting it? That head coach will have to answer to that big time.
good call, guy was wide open. hard not to take it. if you can't catch a ball when you're wide open or expect a decent throw from your punter maybe once a year. go home. football is about momentum, big plays swing it your way. if you never take any chances you won't win many games. Saban believed in taking chances with the Blitz's he ran. The thing is TIMING. No one would have the balls to do that from an end zone on first series, but thats the VERY reson to do it, those are the times the guy is wide a$$ open.
i know what that is but it surely doesnt look like it. it was a designed fake as your eyes told you when it happened and you're right...it was stupid as well. Was I right last year? Mike Gottfried had a stroke or 10. How bad is he now? i guess thats why hes not with franklin anymore. yeah martin, I also think going for 2 more is a decent payoff but depends on situations. this wasnt a good one.
f off Im not dismissed you dont own this forum jacka$$ your opinions are just opinions like anyone else. if someone has a different one, it's not up to you to dismiss anyone. If anything is dismissed it's your brain, your ego is on full throttle though. get over yourself, Trev is better at football LOL :hihi:
look i have zero ego but sometimes you need to be corrected. nothing personal. it was a terrible call regardless the outcome. if you think it was a good call your football acumen needs a little work.
