I loved it, I was just about drunk, but I loved it. Something like that can be like a slap in the face to the opposing team. It we would have been nice to score on that drive.
Ditto, that was a late game so I was half in the bag also. I thought it was a great call for one reason: If you have an uncovered gunner it also means you will have an unblocked rusher on the return team...Which means there was a good chance the punt would have been blocked.
Listening to the LSU radio show with guest Larry Porter (RB coach) and he says the fake punt was a surprise to Les.
I loved the call, good stuff. Yes there are certain common sense conformities or rules that seem shouldn't be breached, but how boring is that. Gotta take big risks to get big rewards.
sorry if this has been posted...I was catching up on sleep last night and I'm not going to read 3 pages of this... The fake punt was not called. I was there, LSU side, about the 20 yard line. When they lined up, no one was on the receiver. The receiver yelled back at CJ to make him aware. Jacques Doucet (channel 9) was on our flights back Sunday so we chatted him up quite a bit. He says the play was not called by the coaches BUT...CJ always has this option b/c he was a high school QB. Now in saying that, CJ got a "little talking to" by the coaches after the play :thumb:
