Sure thing... I'll be at the rest of the home games... let me know ahead of time and how many you'd need when you're planning to make a trip, and I'll check to make sure that all of the tickets aren't already spoken for (My best friend has 7 season seats, so I'd have to check with him but we usually have a couple extra)... If they're not used up, I'd be happy to meet up with you. I don't think I've met anyone other than LSUinPA (I knew him for a while before I started coming around here, he turned me onto this place) on the forum yet. LSUinPA owns 2 seats next to my spot, and being he lives in PA, well he's not at all the games... I'm sure if you were planning a trip you could check with him too... He'd be happy to hook you up I'm sure. Contact him on here, or let me know and I can call him... either way it's not a problem. :tigerhead :lsug: :tigerhead
I was sitting in the student section and these booing fans were pissing me off so much, but every time it happens - it seems that its nobody next to me. It's just there. I always yell for people to shut the hell up, but my cousin was also in the South endzone - and he was telling me the same thing about these classless fans over there. I hate seeing drunken idiots donning LSU gear abandoning their team at halftime. There were way to many empty seats. AGHHHHH. I can't even string sentences together right... it pisses me off so much.
That's too bad. I take my kids to these games and try to use it as much for enjoyment as teaching them things about life. Saban has been great for this and the young men on the field have been just as much an HONOR to point out as roll models as watch compete week in week out. The off the field stuff. (academic all americans etc), is great and shows that this program is on the right track. When you have a team with guys getting awards, for football and academics winning SECCG and competing for NC's makes it easy to do with kids cause they can relate to things they see up close. Then when you get a bunch of idiots yelling the things you heard it takes the shine off the situation. Being let down by LSU not trashing Troy is one thing but hurling the insults you mentioned is another. I was not in the best of moods in Athens but never said anything negative about the team or ANY player or coach. Being in Tiger Stadium is a great experience for me and my boys and I hope the folks I sit around never get to the point of your neighbors. Thanks EU
My season tickets are in the South endzone and yes many a stupid comment was yelled out. It was sad. I'll say this, the ones in my area were mostly drunk. How quickly people jump off of the bandwagon. Last year these same people were down on their knees praying when it came out that Jimbo might take the Ms State job. It was like our team could not have existed if he left. Now, my 11 year old daughter thinks his name is "F**king Jimbo" The same can be said of Saban. There are only five SEC schools that have won the MNC (AL 10?, TN 2, LSU 2, GA 1 & Fla 1). I'm sorry but you should NEVER boo players and why would you want to boo or "call out" the coaching staff that delivered you the crystal ball ? Most of these people don't know jack about football. Am I disappointed when LSU loses or doesn't play well ? You bet, but I am mature enough to take it in perspective. Not much you can do about it though. People are people.
I think the racial slurs have to be the most disgusting thing in the entire post. Marcus Randall is a Tiger--he's not black and he's not white. It's the 21st century. WHY do people still put ANY stock in color?
This post is really sad. How can a fan say things like that towards any player? I guess when these it will be Saban's fault when these high school recruits that where at the game Sat. night see and hear these things and they decide they want to play at another college? How can you boo a coach that brought LSU a National Championship? This kind of behavior will only make Saban and the rest of the coaching staff leave. Then who will we get? We will drop back down to the middle of the pack again. o: I am going to my first game this weekend and my son will be with me. I hope that the behaivor of the fans will be improved. Always- :geaux: Win, lose or draw.
Just plain old ignorance and hatred.... As shameful as it is, many people continue to be brought up this way. It's everywhere, but especially down south. I usally just ignore those comments due to the fact that I realize I cannot control what other people believe. There was one guy about 3 seats down from me that was saying things along those lines about Randall, and yelling for Flynn to come in the game and I did have the urge to make him swallow a few of his teeth, but what would that have accomplished?
Great post BB. You should get rep points from everybody. Please note that the only dissenting opinion to your post was also the only non-contributor of the respondees. That tells me a lot. He's a bandwagoner, fairweather fan, spoiled brat, etc etc etc. Always taking...never giving.
I agree with what you have to say but, I must admit, I'd have found the "UAB" chant to be kinda funny had I been there. Don't confuse the overreactions of some with the righteous anger many felt over Saturday's "performance". Nick Saban was pissed over his team's "execution", so I think I'm in pretty good comany feeling the same way myself.
