Why is it when I apply for a job, I'm asked what color I am? Why does the NFL make teams interview 1 minority?
Good fans You know who I think had the best fans this past Saturday. Mississippi State...their stands were full, and they had no idea it would be the great game for them that it was. They have been down for the last 3 years, but their fans still show up and fill the stands. I personally am glad that they had something to cheer about. They were so excited with each touchdown, and I think they would have felt great even if they had not won, simply because they had a good showing, and no body expected them to do well. I haven't heard them boo their team or coach, and they show up every week.......that says a lot for their fans. I just hope that Bama and LSU fans can learn from that. We have to support our team and coaches while we are down............what did we(Bama) expect with the probation and all, and LSU you can't win the championship every year...your coach has done so much since he's been there....I only dream of having that success again.
BB--I agree with almost all you said. (except when you got off on Ole Miss) By the way, one OM quote is--"Go to Tiger stadium....Buy a cheap ticket....If the Rebs can jump on them quickly, you can sit anywhere in the stadium. If they can't, relax and eat the cajun food.....It's GOOD." I was at Jerry Stovall's first game as head coach. If I remember right, it was against Fla. St. in one of Bowden's better years. FSU kicked butt. Leaving the stadium there were people yelling "U-HAUL FOR STOVALL." First game man. A couple of years later, he NATIONAL coach of the year. You just had the misfortune to sit with some jerks. I promise you, there are lots and lots of REAL Tiger fans just as pi@@ed as you. With lots and lots of real class!!!!!
full is a relative term when it comes to Mississippi football. 2/3 is full for Ole Myth, 3/5 is full for Miss State, 3/4 is full for S. Miss.
I'm glad you addressed this. Luckily I was watching the game from my couch in Orlando, FL so I didn't have to hear any of that horrible stuff. I'm glad I didn't because I would have hate to heard any of that from our fans. Was it a majority or a small minority that was yelling this? I think that is cruel.
Good post BB, Let me say we sat at section 2, row AA, seat 6 and 7. We had both LSU and Troy fans around us and we got together just fine and Luckily I didn't hear any of the bad comments or slurs that you mentioned. All the fans around me were classy from both schools although us LSU fans kinda hung our heads every now and then when we didn't play so hot. I congratulated the Troy fans on having a good time but I was very impressed that we couldn't run the ball on them. More fans need to be patient with this team, Nick didn't come hear and win the National championship the first year. This is like the first year as far as the QB,WR situation is concerned. This offense needs lots of work before they can function like last years team. Its not all bad news, We had great people in our area but you have to remember part of Tiger Stadium's reputation come from a few fans that have too much to drink. We all know the typical fans for ALL teams, a small % i believe that give fans a bad rap at a lot of teams. I just pray none of this happened in the student section!
I watched the game from Atlanta on ESPN Plus... at first I blamed the low crowd noise on the bad audio feed from the 5th string Producing crew. Maybe it was the fact that alot of people sell or give their tickets away to less enthusiastic fans because they assume the game will be a blowout.
