    Who do you hire?
    I like this guy.

WVU OC. Top 15 offense. QB coach. Seems pretty creative. Good resume. Only makes $500k per year, so LSU can easily lure him away with cash.

    Your guy seems pretty good.

    My personal pre-requisites:
    - Experience in working with offenses that move the ball and score points in the year 2018
    - A believer in the power of a mobile QB and the problem that can create for defenses
    - Someone who gameplans for his opponent and doesn't just do the same thing regardless of who is lining up opposite your team
    - Not old as hell

I invite you to listen to a tale of two teams from California.

The Rams fired Jeff Fisher, who was regarded by many as a solid, veteran head coach. The Rams under Fisher were the last team I would ever watch on TV - and their QB, Goff, looked like Jamarcus Russell the sequel. They hired a 31-year-old virtual unknown to replace him, and the same group of shitheads who could barely get a first down becomes an exciting contender. Goff looks like a stud.

The Raiders hired Jon Gruden, whose best years are well behind him. The Raiders blow.

The moral of the story is: you can go with (A) safe, known, old, retread coach, or (B) get a guy on the rise.

Haven't we wasted enough time on the A path?

Sean Payton (as an example, not a canidate) comes to mind as well.

If we truly lack the talent everyone says we do, then we have to run one of those gimmick offenses.

I think we are mostly just green on offense. Qb Wrs RB's not great. Oline a disaster mostly attributed to Bama.

Combine those together and a hc is going to run the clock out relying on defense on Sela and miss st instead of padding stats. Rolling uga shows our potential. But we are so far from Bama its not really relevant. Who yall wanna hire. Can't fire a guy without a replacement.

From an OC perspective I dont think it would be hard to find someone who "wants the job"... I am not asking to fire O. I just think in the interim, a better OC can be found.

The problem is that everybody else except maybe Clemson is so far behind Bama too. They are in a league of their own.

Hugh Freeze would be my choice. We know he can recruit, he has ties to
Mississippi which is starting to look like Louisiana junior when it comes to offensive and defensive line talent. And he can modernize this offense and is a qb whisperer.

This is crazy enough to work. Plus, he knows Ed O, and he's trying to rehab his entire image and restart his career. Louisiana doesn't care if he loves hookers - it's almost expected of prominent state employees to do so.
