How do you pick just one? Pistol's a legend and Shaq is a living one. There are so many other favorites, especially recently with the football program having it's best era in school history.

I guess I go with my 1st favorite player of all time, Dalton Hilliard. Towards the end of Dalton's freshman year, my dad was explaining how he had 3 yrs remaining at LSU. As a 7 yr old, I remember thinking that he'd be there until I was 10 and that seemed like forever. He and Eric Martin made me as big a fan of the Saints as LSU. I'm just now getting back to really caring about the Saints.

Of recent times, there have been so many fan favorites that I couldn't mention just one.

FB offense: Tommy Hodson--4 yr starter during my time.
FB Defense: Brady James--his performance in Peach Bowl after losing his parents (his father only a week earlier) still brings a tear to my eye. No LSU Tiger has ever deserved a Bowl MVP more than him.
Basketball: Ricky Blanton--Brought his lunchpail every night.

Thats a tough one. I'd have to say Shaq, but Pete Marovich is pretty close

    What an enigma.

I'm just happy I got to see him play in the Cow Palace.

this wont be popular, but im picking a guy that was just amazing. did not have amazing size but would get the rebound against the bigger players, would make block after block against bigger players, would score over bigger players, would beat double teams repeatedly, and would do all of this at key times.

he was a jerk, but i love to watch him play.

My favorite LSU athlete of all-time? It's a tie between two all-time LSU greats who played for the Tigers when I was a pre-teen and my love for the Tigers was formed. I'll give you a hint: My dog is named "Casanova." My next dog will be named "Pistol Pete!"

I think most of us tend to name players who starred at LSU during our formative LSU years - that is, the time when we became passionate about LSU sports. Is this not the case for any of you?

Regarding my favorites, you young 'uns missed seeing two incredible players!
