Football: Chris Berman's "BOOM, BOOM" when a bruiser like Mike Alstott get the ball Basketball: Marv Albert's "YES" or Kevin Harlan's "RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES" Baseball: "SEE YA" from the Yankee network announcers But at the same time, my least favorite is "YANKEES WIN" hahah
"We couldn't do diddley-poo offensively. We couldn't make a first down. We didn't run the ball. We didn't try to run the ball. We couldn't complete a pass. We sucked. We sucked. It was a horse-shi t performance in the second half. Horseshi t. I'm totally embarrassed, and I'm totally ashamed. We got our ass kicked in the second half. It sucked. It stunk. Cuz they just blocked better, were more tougher, more physical, coached better, did everything better. We sucked." -- Jim Mora
the allen iverson entire speech is probably the one thing that made me laugh more than anything dealing with sports. I think i can recite the entire interview. not sure why it cracks me up so much. mora: We've thrown 5 interceptions returned for touchdowns. That might be a league record. And we've still got six games left, so there's no telling how many we'll have. I mean, it's absolutely pitiful to play like that... Horrible. Just horrible. Horrible. Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I'm just hoping we can win a game, another game.
Don't remeber who said it, but a college baseball coach last year, summed up his team like this "Our hitters can't hit and our pitchers can't pitch, but we make up for it with bad defense and poor base running"
I would hafta say that my favorite phrase would be "Do you believe in Miracles?" :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
I saw the game on tv too, and I almost dropped my daughter who was about 6 months old then. I have watched several specials about it and have enjoyed them all.
Most of these are quotes and not phrases. When I think of phrases I think what I would say to my team.....sayings, cliches, certain points of how you want the game played, etc. But one of my favorite quotes is from John McKay when asked about his team's execution after a defeat while coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: "I think it's a good idea."
"The name on my helmet is more important then the one on my back." That was Travis Daniels "I had my mind made up that I'd be the best special teams player LSU ever had." That was JV...
