I hate Hey Fightin' Tigers. We have just played it so much I'm tired of it. Generally it's the song we play when the other team scores (read: '05 SEC Championship made me dislike it).
Pregame is my favorite by a wide, wide margin. Chinese Bandits and Tiger Rag are my next favorites. They're pretty close, but Chinese Bandits is ahead by a very slight measure. Mostly because I like the story and history behind it. And because, when push comes to shove, I do prefer a dominating, hard-hitting defense to a flashy offense.
I was there and I'll always remember the great response of the crowd as well. If I remember correctly (was it really 18 years ago??), the exhibition was at Prattville High School and the band received the keys to the "city." I also remember that the field was really torn up and very muddy and the Golden Girls had a jump split at the end of their feature dance. I'll never forget how everyone of them completed the split---straight into the mud--- without the slightest bit of hesitation.
