With every court filing it becomes way beyond obvious that trump had not declassified any of the material he stole and brought to Mar-a-Lago (not that he could so haphazardly do so, anyway). This week when the DOJ filed that any "special master" should only be allowed to inspect declassified documents the trump lawyers did not say "OK, fine, it was all declassified, let's go" they instead argued that the documents are inspectable because of some residual executive privilege (which is itself preposterous). And just why WOULDN'T trump's lawyers claim declassification because of some alleged standing trump order? Because they know that that's bullshit, and because there's a statutory something named 18 USC 1001 which makes it criminal to submit false statements to a court. Plus bar association sanctions on top of that. The lesson? Tossing shit against the wall is not credible on this board, and it's not a legal defense against treason, either.

The trump team refused to provide an answer. "My view is you can't have your cake and eat it too," said Dearie. "As far as I’m concerned that’s the end of it."
