The BCS uses the ELO_CHESS list from the Sagarin poll. We are no. 11 in the Sagarin poll, but no.8 in the ELO_CHESS list.

On a side note, how can any team with 3 losses be ranked ahead of LSU in the Sagarin poll? (Minnesota) That's why these SOS computer average polls are stupid, they make no sense.

Another point, The Sagarin poll has LSU marked down as not playing ANY top 10 teams all season. Alabama was undefeated and wasn't even considered top 10.

It's so blatently biased against the SEC, I wonder why the rest of the country hates us so much.

Unfortunately the way it works is kinda screwy. Since we beat Bama, we knocked them out of the top 10 in the Sagarin poll, so LSU doesn't get credit for a top 10 win. That's always been a bone of contention for me, I say you give credit at the time the game was played. If a team goes on to lose games later on after you played them, that's not your problem. If you beat a top 10 team, it should stick. On the flip side, you shouldn't get credit for it if the team goes on to run the table and end up in the top 10. If you played them when they weren't ranked, then too bad.

Why are you looking at anything but the ELO_CHESS column? That's like complaining about the AP poll.....its irrelevant.

    We're 8th....up from 16. End of story.

How in the world can a 9-1 Bama be #24 in that computation?? 5-3 USF is 25 and 5-5 AZ State is 26... !!!

Bama got put behind two 4 loss teams and 5 three loss teams... They need to rethink this...

Home advantage hurts way too much and SOS obviously still has way too much of an effect on this based on these rankings right now...

Is there any hope for this system?... :dis:

Anyone else look for App. State and NT?

App. State is the highest AA team at 79.. above Bowling Green, LA Tech, Hawaii, UAB, Mississippi State (114) and Ole Miss (95)

    NT is at 157 however....
