Filling the stadium

Swerved It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Uhm.... Tiger Stadium is among the top schools in the nation for attendance records.. Where is this attendance problem you speak of?

Ticket prices aren't an issue... It's called living in the 21st century... they could charge 50 bucks a seat for the worst seats in the stadium and people would still go to the games. If people choose not to sit in the bowl because they can't afford to, then those that can afford it, will... it's always been like that and as long as the demand is there, it will continue to be that way.

Tiger Stadium sells out for each game and has been in the top-10 in attendence for decades. There are no shows, just like any school has, but its not related to ticket prices--the tickets have been bought.

    1. Television--almost every game is televised now, even the OOC games on pay-per view. When the weather is bad for a game against a Div-AA opponent and your arthritic knees are acting up, some folks just stay at home and watch it on the HDTV.

    2. Upper Deck Syndrome. If your seats are in the corners of the upper deck, sometimes you just don't go or you upgrade from a scalper. It's a long way from the field and the view is lousy. Schools with high upper decks in the endzones have a lot of trouble with no-shows because the view of the field is so bad. There is high turnover for these seats.
LSU doesn't have a problem unless people stop buying tickets. That didn't even happen in the 1990's when LSU had 8 losing seasons.

None of the games were close to be filling 100% this year. Those stats are for how many tickets are sold.

I beg to differ with this one. Both Bama and Ole Miss were pretty phucking close.I was there for both, and the place was packed. Bama was announced as the 2nd largest crowd in Stadium history.

Those are averages. Therefore all games didn't have to be at 100% capacity. And it's the average for attendance, not bought tickets. Find somewhere that says it's for ticket sales.

LSU's ticket prices are very reasonable compared to the other top teams around the country. LSU fans gripe that they keep going up, but that's life. LSU has no problem selling the tickets.

What percentage of seats are available for students only? For donors? For the visiting team? I get that the visting team allocation my vary depending on the opponent but in general.

15K is SEC standard (visitors), at least that's the # in T-town. Student seats vary per location.

Vandy has the ability to handle 35K...

I believe it's around 15,000 for Students. Not sure about the rest.

Too few for students, too many for visiting teams, every season ticket holder is a "donor." (Thanks, TAF! /sarcasm)
