I feel the correct decsion was made. As for Williams himself, he has gotten a bad rap from many people. I saw an interview with him on Outside the Lines earlier tonight and I must say that I was impressed with his demeanor and comments. This kid is a great raw talent and it is too bad he won't be playing on a football field this fall, whethere it be an nfl field or a college field. Purplejoe, WHY do you believe he whould have been re-instated?
right outcome but wrong reasoning.... he signed that early since he was flunking out of school and bailed. that way, if they ruled against him...he can say he dropped out thinking he would be drafted. He wouldnt have been eligible regardless the ruling, hence the right decision by the NCAA was made.
Just wanted to post the official ncaa statement: http://www.ncaa.org/releases/miscellaneous/2004/2004082601ms.htm#top
