This is true, we don't need to have 25 total. Like I said, this is still a young team, returning lots of talent. LSU has done a great job of mixing young talent with the veterans. It payed off this year and will do the same next season. Right now, we are just filling holes, adding depth. We will still be young next season. Remember on next years team, we will only have 10 Srs, none will be QB's, RB's, LB's, CB's or Safeties. We still have a shot of some leaving after their Jr season, but this team is in good shape for the next two years with youth. In my numbers thread I list 10 Sr's, 23 Jr's, 21 Soph's and 16 Frosh as of right now. A larger breakdown: Number of players in next year class. (Number of Sr's) QB's-3 (0) RB's-7 (0) WR's-8 (1) OL-12 (3) TE-4 (2) DE-7 (2) DT-6 (1) LB-8 (0) CB-5 (0) S-6 (0) ST-4 (1) :tigereye:
Losing that O-lineman hurt the most, given the fact we will have to find replacements across the line after next season. I do expect Dworaczyk to get his extra season. I think that puts us as having 3 seniors on the starting O-line next year and the two Juniors. Faulk - T (Jr) Williford - G (Jr) Lonergan - C (Sr) Dworaczyk - G (Sr) Hurst - T (Sr) Lots of other sophomores and redshirt freshmen to see time (Collins, Porter, Austin, Turner, White, Washington).
Davenport has been worked into a position, he may end up like Shaw, plays well enough to help when needed. Remember Shaw started the Moo St. game, an has played in every game this year. We have 8 OL returning that have played this year. Branch is another one that has played in a number of games. A return of Josh D. really helps this line.
any idea when Josh Dworaczyk will find out about the redshirt? I know 5 guys from Maryland have been given their's including players who played in 5 games
This would be a nice finish....... Scout.com: Justin Shanks Profile A chance he comes in for a visit........
Looking at the remaining Scout 300, it apears that LSU is not really in the running for any of the remaining undecided recruits and it seems unlikely that LSU is going to "flip" any of the already ddcided recruits. Dandy Don posed the following question this morning: "While I would love to see LSU complete this year's class by signing some of the out-of-state prospects whose names you've heard mentioned lately such as Cordarrelle Peterson, Jeremy Liggins, Kwon Alexander, and Corey Thompson, I would also like to see LSU give some consideration to a few more top Louisiana prospects who have always dreamed of being Tigers. A few that come to mind are Dwayne Benjamin (WR, 6'4", 175) from Northside, Jacoby Briscoe (DL, 6'4", 300) from Carencro, Otha Peters (LB, 6'0", 201) from Covington, and Alonzo Moore (ATH/S, 6'2", 182) from Winnfield. Will LSU go after any of the in state kids that are remaining, or will it be of benefit to LSU to sign less than the maximum this season?
Bhelm is Trea coming in for a visit this weekend? I hope we can pull this guy and he is a teammate of Kwon if I am not mistaken :thumb:
As of right now, we have 70 players and can only add 15 to the 85 limit. We are middle heavy, only 10 Srs. next year, a few could come out as Jrs. We have 23 Jrs and 21 Sophs next year, still a young class.
