Do it now. There's bad nights in pitching, but enough is enough. I dont care if it is his fault or somebody dug up the ghost of Poche's yips and sat it in the pen, fire that mf'er tonight. Tonight
Yep everything was up again. Hess was a fucking mess. Stat line won't tell you much about this one. Skip says he's the best pc out there. So does cpm. I don't see it.
It was as if he gave everyone ex lax before going out to the mound. I was actually in awe in how fucked up any Friday night should never be. But it is a representation of a long time coming. Fire him
Pitching stats to date: Jaden Hill 1.80 era with 11K's over 10 innings Landon Marceaux 4.76 era with 9K's over 11.1 innings Zack Hess 5.19 era with 10K's over 8.2 innings Todd the wadd Peterson 0.00 era with 4K's over 4.1 innings * Trent Vietmeier 0.00 era with 3K's over 2.2 innings ** Matthew Beck 4.91 era with 4K's over 3.2 innings Devin Fontenot 5.06 era with 7K's over 4.5 innings Eric Walker 6.75 era with 2K's over 4 innings Aaron George 6.75 era with 7K's over 2.2 innings Riggs Threadgill 6.75 era with 1K over 2.2 innings Cole Henry 8.10 era with 3K's over 3.1 innings Chase Costello 13.50 is a mess Rye Gunter 18.00 is a mess Team era over 7 games, 5.0 Pitchers with the gas are the ones getting beat up. More doubles and balls leaving the park than anyone else. Command? Ugh, hope things improve.
Its early and its a trade off when you have multiple guys throwing this hard. If you leave it hanging over the middle, a good batter is going to send it. FYI, Hess had like a 10 ERA early on last year and brought it back. I would note the Strike out numbers not too bad and something to build on.
Same playing field for everybody. Team era of 5.0 is exactly #166 in a field of 291 D1 teams. So sure, we can see where we stand at the middle and the end of the season, but this remains a historical value for a pitching coach throughout his tenure at LSU with the exception of a few great pitchers who, digressed under his tutelage. Not too hot for a purported pitching whisperer. Dunn has been on my shit list for years now, so call it personal, lol. Why exactly, is it such a plague at LSU for throwing a ball, almost any ball? Overhand throws, not the underhanded kind, just the ones thrown by dudes.
We are two weeks in though. Hess started off over a 10 ERA last year. It sure as fuck didn't stay there. You should be happy CPM went and got some big bodies that can swing this year.
But I would agree with the premise. Dun played at Bama and should have never been offered a job based on that alone!
It is two weeks in and... Tennessee has a .57 era ** Miss. St. 1.69 era aTm 2.0 era nicholls st. 2.12 era Alabama 2.57 era Texas 2.73 era Aubarn 2.73 era New Orleans 2.83 era Florida 3.17 Arkansas 3.36 era Southern Alabama 3.81 era ...and on and on. The common denominator, they all with the exception of Tenn** who is a potential matchup at Hoover, are on our schedule. I sure am glad we went out and got those sluggers, but none of that has anything to do with the pitching coach and his performance with a top-ranked class, heavy on pitchers.
