    Wilson Pickett's greatest hits.....(First)

    The Temptations greatest hits.....(Second)

Are you experienced......( I became experienced...Third)

Big Brother and the Holding Company.....(Fourth)

All in 1968....my parents hated those albums, but when I came home with the grateful dead, they liked that. Turns out my parents were cool after all.

Funny, I never bought pre-recorded cassettes. i would buy the LP and then record my own cassettes for the vehicle. I went straight from LP to CD albums in the early 80's.

I permed the back of my shoulder length hair when I was a junior in high school. Dad threatened to cut if off, he meant it. I slept with my door locked for two weeks. In the end most of us are professional imitators, still catch myself saying things to my son that he said to me :)

I think the real turning point with them was when I brought Willie Nelson's stardust album....They completely loved that album. When I showed them the album cover with that picture of long haired, wrinkle faced Willie Nelson's head on the cover, they both had epileptic fits...my mother couldn't believe it...my dad gave me a 60's clenched, raised fist and said "Right on!!".

I bust a nut laughing..

I guess the picture of willie was on the inside of the album. But it was simailar to this picture, but a close up of his head from the side (if I remember right)

By the way, the biggest problem I have about CDs is that they're too small for the artwork. Albums used to have great cover art. Now it's artless with the i-pod downloads. What a shame.
