Sure would be nice to hear more about the 83 of 85 scholarship players that are doing extremely well, rather than the 2 who failed the conditioning test. :crystal:
If we were Ole Miss or some other bush league program, I could see us being uplifted by the positive stories. Here, the expectation is that the guys make the cut, and as such, only the exceptions are newsworthy. Of course, I'll never pass up some good stories to get all jacked up before the season!
My first reaction to this post? "We're SO gonna f*cking rock this season!" 13 games. 13 wins. 3 National Championships. It's that simple to say. Now. let's go and do it. :crystal:
I'm sure there will be some good stories, most of the info above is of that nature...just not much to scrape together at the moment. One positive bit to take away from this is that in 2004, 30 players failed the conditioning tests...this year, two. Says a lot about how the players responded to Miles and the leadership the upper classmen are giving and the team's commitment to excellence this year. Of the two that failed, one is a chronic case and the other was due to surgery. That's pretty amazing imo.
get off jr. the fatter the better. i love fat athletes and he's not even close to fat yet. yet Im hoping. cmon 285.
Were the standards the same? Different coach maybe differrent standards. NOT A KNOCK JUST A QUESTON/COMMENT.
Same S&C coach, same standards...but different timing. With Saban, according to Dandy, the tests were done on first reporting day of fall practice. Miles chose to give the tests on July 29th because he said he'd rather not have the players lose their legs by running the 110s the day before practice began. Valid reasoning imo.
