I'll take a stab.....without direct knowlege, I'd have to believe the NCAA recognized the BCS champion since there is an agreement (at least with the college coaches if not the NCAA) that they (the coaches), in accordance with the BCS system was implemented to determine the NC would have a role in voting the winner of that game the NC.

    Could be completely wrong thoug.

Both LSU and USC. The NCAA simply lists all those named national champions, whether it was BCS, AP or UPI. AP started naming one in 1936. Prior to that the choice is based on a retroactive poll .

Until the NCAA implements a playoff system of some sorts for Div 1A we will continue to have the debate over who is the recognized/acknowledged/sanctioned MNC.

Oh well, it provides for interesting discussion between the end of the season and the bowl games. :hihi:

Agreed. Now if we can just get the university presidents to agree.

We'd probably stand a better chance of negotiating & implementing a comprehensive Middle East peace plan.

In addition to convincing the university presidents, you'd also have to get the bowls on board. It will happen one of these days, I just hope I'm still around to see it.
