He's certainly deserving of a hd coaching job and as much as I hate to lose any of our staff, I wish him the best and am grateful to the time he's spent with us.

I hope we get a top-notch offensive guru cause they will be getting a top-notch bunch of talent and there are no limits with what they'll be able to do with what they'll have on the roster....not to mention how our recruiting is shaping up.

It'll be like a kid Christmas morning........so many toys to play with, "Which one will I play with first". :thumb:

I didn't know Mack Brown was at LSU at one point. When was this?

I think it was only for one year.

Yeah, after looking at his website, this is what came up.

This was after coming from Iowa State the year before and going coach at App. State the next year.

Here is the question.. who replaces Jimbo? A traditional guy who is gonna line up in the I and run it up the gut all day... or will we get some young hotshot with some new ideas (which of course, means running the spread)...

One thing I am reallly curious about is whether Paul Johnson will leave Navy. Will be interesting to see the flexbone option in a BCS conference... I think, considering how effective it is at navy, that he could take a bottom tier BCS team and make them competitive using this offense.

I'm probably in the minority with these thoughts but I'd like to see someone come in and run some "Off the hook" stuff like when we played in the neighborhood......... swing pass to the QB, flea flickers, double reverse passes, find a back who can pass and direct snap to him with a pass option (like Ark. uses McFadden).

Lets just hope that we don't get someone who wants to change us to spread option team. Would love to see someone open up the playbook a little though and utilize some of our offensive weapons to their potential.

Amen to opening up the play book. Too much talents on hand not to fully utilize them. Be great to have a Sean Payton type of offense. Who woulda thunk i would live see the day when LSU and the Saints have high octane offense...:hihi:
