1. I'm not sure if anyone heard about what happened last football season at LSU. I forget who exactly it was. Maybe the new provost. But she passed some kind of regulation that the song "Chinese Bandits" (played whenever the defense stops the opposing offense on third down, or makes a great stop) had to have its title changed to "Tiger bandits," since the former title was perceived as offensive to Asian LSU students. I really REALLY want to poll the entirety of the asian student population on this. I'm willing to bet that half of them never even noticed, much less took offense to it. Dumb lefties.
  2. I never heard that. I don't think it is true, either.
  3. I'm calling BS on this one. That story never circulated last season around here.
  4. Who does "gyped" offend?? Never knew that was a derogatory term!
  5. Maybe it has something to do with gypsies and their reputations. My wife is a descendant from gypsies by the way. I get gypped all the time. :hihi:

  6. It is really offensive to gypsies. The gypsies are not wanted anywhere they have ever been because they are supposedly dishonest and not trustworthy. The term was coined basically because gypsies were like the the guys who work the bottle toss at the parish fair. They will rip you off twelve times before you know you've been swindled.
  7. Liberals are frightened, scared little whinny babies who will cry about everything but not fight for anything. Way to go NOLES. You better give that tribe season tickets for saving your asses from the liberal lawyers.
  8. That's because they are SMARTER than you and can dictate how to live your life better than you could (how to spend your $$$, as well)!!!;) ;)
  9. Whether or not it did, ask any tigerband member here. Ms. Moorhouse explicitly instructed us to call it Tiger Bandits, as opposed to Chinese Bandits. If I remember correctly, they even circulated music with a revised title.
  10. I don't like them much from an athletic standpoint, but good for FSU and the Seminole Tribal council.

I have really grown to dislike all of the complaining about mascots and it being considered "insulting" to people. Indians, Redskins, Braves--they all give the impression of a warrior--something proud. Let the mascots be. They aren't hurting anyone, and if anything, they're promoting the native cultures that are in their respective areas.
