Wow. Maybe you should stop posting if you can't handle the opinions of others. Calling someone bigot whitetrash ******* should cost you posting rights anyways. Do yourself a favor and save red the trouble of banning you, just stop posting.

I don't think it would be a bad idea. I mean, if you have the weapons, why not use them? I think CLM will do whatever it takes to bring his Pre-ranked #2 team to the National Championship like everyone except Lou Holtz expects! :geauxtige

    ...is it football season yet?

I think most games will be close so we wont see RP. We do play a few scrubs so he will see some mop-up duty much like Flynn last year. CLM only sticks w/his starters. There won’t be any flipping or flopping so don't get your hopes up.

I agree. Flynn will have to go down to injury or just flat out blow up to be pulled. All this "get another QB reps for next year" is not on a coaches mind at all THIS season.

For the second straight August practice Matt Flynn is making reduced passes due to "camp arm" according to the morning paper. His arm is already sore.

last fall all we heard was that mf and jr were running neck and neck. do we actually believe this? people that are watching practice and scrimmages see certain plays called when certain qb's are in the game. coaches won't have the entire offense learn plays unless they plan on using them. there is no question that rp has the better running and passing ability but where the problem comes in is his game management. so, if coaches send him in at different times(not just third down) and he has three options as to what the defense gives him it takes a lot of pressure off as to managing the game which mf is very good at. it doesn't matter if rp comes in for a play and gets 15-20 yards on a big play regardless of the down or position on the field. if he can add production to and drive it would be stupid not to use him.

Having only seen one of these 2 guys get any meaningful playing time at the college level, how can you be so sure?

even assuming you're correct, id still go with mf. game management is so much more important than passing and running ability combined. montana isnt in the HOF because he had a great arm or scrambled well.

This worries me greatly. Is this happening because his arm strength isn't great and he is over doing his arm?

Is this how he hurt his shoulder last year? I'm worried about not having much of a long ball game without JR. With the speedy WR's it would be nice to get way downfield a lot.

I know MF doesn't have a great arm but I always thought it was better than Mauck's.

umm, Montana had a great arm. But I do understand the point you are trying to make. Game management will be a factor this year vs. last year. I'm glad the changes were made, personally. But to be a quality quarterback, besides being a leader, scrambling and passing are pretty much on the top of the requirement list. I think the management comes more from Miles and/or Croughton. Unless we have two different definitions of 'game management'.

Flynn will do an exceptional job this year. I am very excited to see it! Saying that, I hope RP gets a handful of plays. Experience influences confidence.
