He is the starting QB for the Seattle Seahawks now that Hasselback is injured.

    Was that this play?

That was Seneca Wallace and he wasn't exactly trying to run the clock off if i remember, they were actually running a set play that broke down. But yeah 8-10 seconds is an eternity especially since the D is expecting the run and will stack 8-9 defenders on the line. I've never seen it happen in that situation.
The one time i did something like that happen was with McNabb like 2-3 years ago on MNF, where he ended up throwing the deep bomb.

I saw it too, and thought for sure they would run the ball, let the clock expire and then punt out of bounds leaving TX with maybe 15 seconds and no time outs to get in FG range. Given they were playing a freshman QB, my immediate reaction was that the K St. coach either has an over-abundance of cojones or a lack of gray matter. I was shocked with that play call but delighted it worked out.

    Umm, no. never.

He couldnt have ran 10 seconds off if he made it 65 yards to the other endzone without being caught.

No, if it works it's called "gutsy." If it blows up in his face, it's very stupid.

Having said that, when he dropped back to pass I was shocked, when he heaved the ball toward a spot to the left of my field of view on the TV, I screamed "OMG!" But when it was completed I exhaled! Then joy overcame me as I realized that tu was GOING DOWN!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry Sanders couldn't juke and cut for 8 seconds, much less a QB.

Archie Manning comes to mind.... And he was usually scrambling for his life. I do remember the one play he had when he was with the Oilers vs. the Eagles and threw a 20-30 yd. pass underhanded. Pure Genius!
