Since not many people want to talk about how LSU could lose this year... I'll talk some more about it. Auburn is more talented than we are going to expect & if our offense isn't clicking their defense will give us hell. I don't think they can win, because if for nothing else, last year's heart breaker will be more than enough motivation. Tennessee is a very talented team. Ainge has shown he can be impressive & should be even better after a year of experience. They return one heck of a running back in Riggs & their main weakness from last year, passing defense, should be much improved. Their lines are strong & will give us fits. This is Miles' first SEC test & he'll have to have this team ready or Fulmer will teach him what SEC football is about. Arizona St has a QB with not much starting experience, but has shown great potential. Their a Pac10 team so expect them to use the short pass to move the ball on us, which was so deadly to us last year (oregon st?). It's early in the season, so even though their defense isn't that great, our offense will have to be rolling to really exploit their weaknesses. Florida - it's been said that great schemes can make mediocre players look great. Meyer is being hearalded as perhaps the greatest offensive mind of our time. We has turned every program he's been to into a winner. He lacks SEC or really any big time experience & doesn't have much depth on his Florida team. He's got a QB that doesn't particularly fit into his offense & no running back, which his offense uses to set up everything they do. However, Meyer has shown that he is very tough & expects alot of things out of his players, which could motivate some of them to play at a much higher level than they did under Zook. Zook wasn't a good coach, and he still managed to win 7-8 games a year, often losing them in the 4th quarter because his team's weren't well conditioned & allowed the other team to come back. Meyer's been brining toughness to this team & that alone could be enough to win them 9 games a year. This will be a tough test for Miles with alot of hype from the media about the two new SEC coaches facing off against each other.
I haven't watched Tenn play since we beat them in SECCG. Based purely on press clippings (which don't play or win games), I'd say Tenn has the best chance. Then Auburn, then Florida. Those will be 3 tough games. Bama always plays LSU tough, let nobody forget 31-0 a few short years ago with Francione at the helm. They have a great defense, and they have a shot. In my heart, I think we beat Bama this year. Az. St., I just don't know anything about them, but based on their ranking, they have a shot. In my heart, I think we'll win that game. There will be surprises this season, we could win a game folks don't think we will win, and lose a game folks think we will win. I still think 9-2 is the benchmark. Worse and we underperformed, better and our QB's overachieved and the coaching staff is all we hope it can be. Go Les and GGGGeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuxxxxxxxxx TTTTTTTiiiiiggggggeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrsssssssssssss!
