I was watching the College Gamenight on ESPN2. Both commentators thought that LSU was on the outside looking in. They stated not because they lost the last 5 out of 6 without Lloreda but how they lost those game - being blowout. Jay Bilas was one of the commentators and I find he to be very knowledgeable and respect his opinion. They said LSU is a team without an identity.
They also just listed about 20 teams vying for the 6 at-large bids and wish I could have written them down. Anybody get the list? They said LSU, GA, Florida State and Missouri were out more than likely.
I did not get the list. The NCAA Selection committee has done stranger things. They work in cycles and are very hard to interpret at times. The last few years they have been on the mid-major band wagon. What a good game. Humprey for Florida hits a shot at the buzzer to beat Alabama in overtime. If anything, Alabama losing has helped LSU's cause somewhat.
Alabama has the nations best SOS. They blew a big lead to Moo U and lost in OT to Florida but they finished a lot stronger than LSU. The deserve to go to the Big Dance more than LSU does and if the Tigers get in it just may come down to the fact that they beat Bama twice.
