That's just ridiculous. I swear, winning the BCS Championship really spoiled a lot of LSU fans. All of the sudden, anything less than perfection is completely unacceptable it seems. As for the respect issue, I could care less. The less "respect" and post-game coverage LSU gets, the less hype the team will have to deal with. I'd much rather LSU fly under the radar and let the games speak for themselves, rather than have the ESPN Hype machine dictate the season for us and cause more distractions.
I agree. Hes been getting worse every year. I had to listen to the game last night and I wasnt even watching and could tell he was screwing up. On Holliday's first run he called him Doucet. He gets 8 and 9 confused. Like the Bluegrass miracle he called Devery , Jack Hunt. He does the same for BBall. Its been anyoing me for the last few years.
Even though there's better, I couldn't imagine anyone other than Jim Hawthorne and the rest of the crew calling LSU games on the radio. They're family.
I'd love to be able to do that, but nmy TV is about 5 seconds ahead of the radio call, so I see the play happening before it's announced on the radio.
I agree. I could not care less if ESPN talks all night about LSU. If LSU keeps winning they will earn their deserved respect. While I feel that our team has a great chance to repeat what we did in 03, in all reality we havent beat anybody worth **** yet. Yeah weve beat the crap out of them but they were nowhere near out talent level. Everybody bashes Herbstrt and Corso but thats a TV show and its for entertainment. They say things to get people all excited so they will watch the games on ESPN and ABC. So I hope people get off the whole respect thing, if LSU goes undefeated and wins the NC will you really care if anybody respects us. I wouldnt.:laflagwav
Judging from the negative rep I got for my post, apparently because JR threw a pick, Matt Flynn is the better player. Silly me. Matt Flynn is perfect, I forgot. That's why he's number 2. This is just itching to be a controversial season regarding QBs...
