I think in time SC will be a winning program before Steve hangs it up. To a level they have never been on.

i think dhead is right. regardless the one win difference, the fact remains that superior ran off about 9 guys or so and most of them starters. then beat his old school after they told him they wanted to go a different direction, barely lost to UGA in Athens and beat phat phil in knoxville...something we couldnt do at home. all with much less talent.

Why would LSU win team of the year? This is all based on 2005, and North Carolina won the national championship in basketball this year. I agree, they aren't in the South, but we aren't in charge of it.

I would think the humanitarian effort they put out after the storm would be enough on its own to merit team of the year. Then add to the mix that these guys were able to take the field every week with a new coach under tremendous pressure folliwing a legend, all while carrying the hopes of an entire state, and giving the Gulf Coast something to smile about again. Not to mention these guys also managing to keep their grades up to eligibilty standards as well. Then on top of all that, they still managed to win the toughest division in the toughest conference in college football. UNC did have a great year, but as a whole, I think LSU should have gotten the award.
