Depends on which way you go. I would guess. I mean if you try to go the back way it shouldnt be too bad to get down there. I wouldnt want to try and go down 10 or Airline to 310.
Ok just got a very good look at the view, and The Target store at Clearview and Vets looked destoryed. Vets is completely underwater along with Clearview. Didnt get a good shot of I-10, but I am sure there are spots where it is under.
They reported on CNN during that footage that "bodies were floating"... :dis: Man, I pray that that report was false....or at least that sort of report doesn't come up again. My prayers are with all of you
Question for all. Knowing what you know, would you walk through the French Quarter in PITCH BLACK DARKNESS?
That's the Southern Yacht Club on the lake. We used to keep our boat there from time to time. Half the boats are capsized. I have no idea how long it's gonna take to drain New Orleans.
I saw the footage of everything. The entire Kenner/Chateau/Metairie area between I-10 and the lake is basically devastated. Harahan seems largely spared. Veterans is totally underwater. Lakeview apparently had a levee give way and even 3 story houses are submerged to the roof. There was footage of the Southern Yacht Club burning to the ground and that is really sad to see given the age of that club. Major roof failure occured on the Fairgrounds. The CBD and the quarter were largely spared of water damage. Gentilly has major flooding. They did not show uptown but I would imagine it is not good. Mandeville/Covington had very little flooding but bad wind damage. I haven't seen anything from Slidell or even heard anything and I would imagine that city is basically destroyed. The situation with the pumps is nothing short of a total outrage. (They evacuated the people who were supposed to operate the pumps.)
