All the polls have an out this year. Sat. Sept 13 USC at Los Angeles, California OSU has a chance to prove that they won't get blown out in every big OOC game they have recently. Even if they lose it close, they will probably be out of NC race. Honestly, the only ones most people remember are Florida and LSU anymore because they were SO important.
I am just not buyin the Georgia hype. They finished on a pretty good run against mediocre competition. Mareno is proven good...other than that...I remain unimpressed and still think LSU has a better team. Of course, just pre-season thoughts.
Personally, I would LOVE to see tOSU beat USCw next year. I'll be pulling for the luckeyes to win that game. I'm sick of hearing about the condoms and their football program. But truthfully, the loser will probably be knocked out of the NC picture, while the winner will have a leg-up on everyone else. Let's just hope that someone from the SEC (UGA, UF or LSU) can manage their way through the rugged SEC and get the opportunity to play the winner in the BCS title game. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
For any tOSU to try and explain away the beatings we have taken in the last 2 NC games would be borderline insanity. With that being said to say that they could not compete in the SEC is a bit of a stretch. Our biggest problem is that the Big 10 is so dreadfully weak that we do not get those games that test a teams character. So yes we could compete in the SEC and we would be like the LSU's ,Floridas, Auburns and Georgias who have a lot of 10-2 years cause the league is so rough but put together those 11-1 and 12-0 seasons every few years and play for the NC. As for preseason rankings.....kinda hard to comment on something that useless.
Your Big 2+8 logic frightens and confuses me. I'm only a Coonass and know nothing of your dreadful northern ways, but it appears to me that a chronic lack of conference competition would mean that your team remains untested until the bowl season, fails, and therefore has no idea whether they could compete in the SEC at a level anywhere above, let's be generous, the S.Carolina/Alabama level of success. But, perhaps, next year is your year....again.... If you're gonna post, bring it a bit stronger Mr. Ohfernine.
I'm actually with you on this one. I think there was WAY too much love given to Georgia. They played well at the end of the season....big whoop. Congrats. By the time we play Georgia they will have already suffered their first loss and we will send them on their way home with a 2nd loss and no chance at even an SEC title.
Well you labeled yourself not I so we'll go ahead and move past that. I don't know how much simplier I could explain it maybe with pictures and charts and graphs in crayon even. So basicaly you're saying our talent level is equal to a 6-6 SEC team.......one of those teams lost at home to Louisiana Monroe 21-14.
