Cam Cameron in the past has been known for his innovative approach to the offensive side of the football and for mentoring young quarterbacks. His early version of the spread read option turned Antwan Randall-El into an offensive machine. I know he gets a lot of blame from LSU fans for this year's unimaginative approach and the subpar quarterback play but is he free to call it like he wants? I know the OC is the guy who calls the plays but surely he has to go by the offensive philosophy set in stone by the stone age thinking of his boss. My question is that if Les Miles told Cam that he was sick of having anything to do with the offfense and for Cameron to run it the way he sees fit, to play whichever quarterback he wants and to call plays any way he wants to, would the offense look anything at all like it does now? @LSUDad I am interested in your thoughts about this.
You didn't ask me, but the first thing I would do would be to find the REAL Les and tell him that an impersonator was on the loose suggesting things the REAL Les would never do.
Give the credit to John Lennon. But seriously, do you think Cam would be doing things differently if Les completely turned over all offensive decisions to him?
Interestingly enough, my son was watching the '07 BCSNC game v tosu on youtube the other day. I stopped and looked over his shoulder for a few minutes and I was like WT ACTUAL F ?!?!?! Take a few minutes and go back and look at that game. Make note of the plays, freaking light years ahead of what we are doing now. It was imaginative, creative, effective. Dare I say it, maybe we were too harsh on the crow?
