Steltz is a bigger, faster Jack Hunt.. expect him to have a stellar year..

Hunt was an SS due to speed issues. Steltz suffers from identical white man's disease. Look for Taylor or McCray at FS and Steltz at SS.

Speed is not weighted as much as football smarts and instincts for the FS position. I think Steltz would do well since he has those intangible attributes.

Good post, speed doesnt matter if you are running in the wrong direction.

Hunt was the FS. Landry played SS and corner his freshman year. Steltz will be the FS, he has not shown any signs of being slow. Where did that come from?

I see Steltz at FS, McCray at SS, and Taylor being the dime safety, knocking McCray to the slot, very similar to the Steltz/Daniels platoon from before.

I don't know too much about Chad Jones so i don't know how much PT he'll get if any next year.

let me also say this-watching the trio of young guys on special teams this season was great...I hope to see Coleman (no. 43), McCray (44) and C. Taylor (27) all get on the field somehow, because they are all fast and hit hard.

IF we get Jones he will start or be our #3 at safety, he's a higher rated prospect than Landry coming out of high school and is the best safety in this year's class. 6'3, 230, runs a 4.5 and just a an incredible prospect overall

That doesn't always mean you'll get the better player. JV was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school and since LaDanian Tomlinson went to that power program of TCU, I can only assume he was no where near a 5-star recruit.

I agree with what you're saying, but damn Jones sure does seem like a sure bet and early on too.
