I would stop being a gamecock fan if that ever happened. The boosters would stop donating $$$ and the football team would fold under if that ever happened. By the way rumor on gamecockcentral last week was that you guys wanted Tammy?LOL
Yeah, maybe, but I was trying to make my point crystal clear. Who knows? Some may think the Vandy or Kentucky coach is worth interviewing...okay, maybe not...LOL. SOS should do well at USC. South Carolina has long been underappreciated as a source of HS football talent (well, not by Georgia), and SOS can easily outpace little Tommy Bowden and run Mark Richt out of the state over the next few years. How fun: if Petrino comes to LSU, that makes LSU-Auburn even more intense. If it's Nutt, then it's LSU-Arky that gets dialed up a notch. Of course, those USC-Florida games will be a treat and Tenn-Ala. is more intense thanks to Phat Phill's actions. That's all SEC football needed: even more emotional contests between member schools...LOL. Things were kinda dull in recent years, you know...
I stand corrected: I just assumed Georgia recruited more heavily in S Car than it does (only 1 player on the current roster). My bad.
I agree and think that if we get some good success next season the roads from TN into SC will be blocked in the future for recruiting.
TN used to get much more talent out of Georgia until Richt arrived. And now Phat Phil is trying to go JUCO much more than he used to. South Carolina will be much more competitive once Spurrier gets active, but Georgia has locked up some great successive recruiting classes and USC graduated a huge senior class this year. It will take Spurrier probably about two years to position USC to challenge for an SEC East title.
Just came across this article from yesterday related to the topic. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/content/sports/epaper/2004/12/29/a1c_fins_1229.html
