I suppose it could be a few songs but I'm going to guess it's Tribute to Troy....."an incessant stanza of pounding drums and blaring horns". It's played after every defensive stop..........that's why you hear it from start to finish. :hihi: And you're not alone...........it pretty much drives everyone batty unless you're a Trojan.
Well, trying to tie the V for Victory to ancient times is not much more than a potential history lesson. USC did not become known as the Trojans until 1912. Prior to that we were the Methodists or Wesleyans. In 1922, the idea of "victory" as a war cry caught on when the Fight On song was written and the term appeared twice.
If anybody should feel slighted, it's Cal. They've beaten better teams than USC has and should be ranked higher. Of course it doesn't really matter since it'll be decided on the field.
In light of that, I'd imagine we won't be hearing it often, should we meet; so, SabanFan, don't let it stop you from going to the NC game, if we do.
Didn't USC lose to an unranked Oregon State team last year and was still in national title contention?
What that USC poster forgot to mention, when talking about the AP poll being such a joke, yet they were MORE than willing to accept that JOKE of a "National Title" trophy from the AP in '03
After reading about how "loud" Husky Stadium gets, I read into it. They credit the stadium being loud because "70% of the seats are located between the end zones." It is a horseshoe..... Did you know, that if LSU got rid of the north and south endzone seating, that the stadium would get LOUDER because nearly 100% of the seats would be between the end zones... :dis::dis::dis:
