This looks familiar. You could at least have used your own words, instead of copying it verbatim from another board without giving any credit.
The sad thing is that if they build a new Alex Box Stadium on another site, then the site of the current Box will most likely become parking for Tiger Stadium...which to me is almost a blasphemy. That current site is hallowed ground to LSU Baseball fans.
The baseball fans are well aware of the university's intentions and that is why they do not want the facility moved. A renovation is more likely.
I think it would be wrong to have anything but Alex Box there... that is where alot of magic things have happened... one of which I witness was the 2 back to back wins in the doubleheader against ULL to win the region in 2001. Even if Alex Box was to look as good as the picture, I still wouldnt take it if it meant moving it, and turning it into a freaking parking lot.
I'm a huge LSU Baseball fan and I'm all for a NEW Alex Box...it will take just as much money to renovate the current stadium that it would to build a brand new one that would still be much nicer. If it means moving Alex Box than so be it...The Box isn't the same as Tiger Stadium...hell fans didn't even really start attending games there until the mid to late 1980s. It holds some history but so does Parker Coliseum where Pistol Pete and Bob Petit played, but it would be absurd to still play there. Have you seen some of the newer facilities just in the SEC??? Arkansas, Ketucky, Auburn, and now South Carolina has plans to build a brand new park. Our baseball program deserves a new park and I'm sure the players wouldn't mind moving down Nicholson a tiny bit if it meant the type of improvements that will be made.
why not just move the site where home baseball games are played and tear down Alex Box and build the facilities there. There is alot of undeveloped property around the Box that could be used.
