Yes and no, we never played USC in the regular season. But there were plenty of people, myself included, who said that voters should abide by the system we have in place. Just as Bama fans are saying now.
The common denominator between this year and '03?? LSU was the ONLY conference winner in BOTH games! OU lost to K-State in the Big XII championship game but because they were "so far ahead in the BCS standings" nothing anyone could do would leap them over OU. Same thing with Bama this year. IMO: Winning your conference should be a requirement.
No it aint yes and no. If we were to lose it's 1-1. Aint no trilogy, aint no sole champ. It really can't be anything but a split.
It should, but it isn't. And conference commissioners have had ample time to amend the BCS rules to make winning the conference mandatory for title game eligibility, but haven't done so.
It would be 1-1. And Bama would have the crystal football, which is the only NC that counts. The system is abominable, but it's what we're stuck with, and much as I would like to, I can't blame Bama fans for making that argument.
